Offer for Concerts
Hello!
If you wish to organize a gong concert in cooperation with me at your place, you are very welcome! I take my concerts always in connection with the room or the location where I play.
Sound and place build a unity.
The effect of the sound compositions is due to the wide overtone spectrum a harmonic, spherique and spritual one.
For the listener, but also for myself, the affinity between room or place and sound is an exciting experience. My concerts have occasionally been called "soundservices".
An actual description of my concerts in words is of course impossible.
One has to experience it, one has to listen!

In connection with the concerts a workshop for gong-meditation is possible.
Biography
Jürgen Hippler
Percussion & Chinese Gongs, born in 1949 at Darmstadt (Germany).
Since the age of 16 I play drums autodidactically.
From 1969 to 1979 I studied classical percussion at the 'academy for tone art' in Darmstadt and at the 'university of music' in Hamburg.
From 1974 to 1977 I was a member of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra.
In 1973 I had the chance of a longer visit in Ghana; since then I have a strong interest in African drum culture.
In 1975 I founded the first percussiongroup in Germany called " FAR OUT ".
Since 1984 I work in my own institute " Lapping Percussion ". There I am teaching African and South American Percussion and organizing Workshops for "African Dance". Also I am organizing concerts with international artists with emphasis on percussion.
From 1984 to 1995 several study visits in Ghana. Starting from 2000 solo concerts with Chinese gong set, gong depth relaxation, Percussion and gong as well as gong and Gregorian chants.
Musical activities:
Productions for german radio NDR, WDR & HR for classical and new music. Music for Jeromé Savâry, German Schauspielhaus Hamburg, appearances for Goethe Institut and Oper Frankfurt in Bordeaux, Paris, Brussels, Vienna. Cooperation with the Festival " Theatre of Nations " with Joji Hirota and theatre group " The Lindsay Kemp company ", London 1979; Soloconcerts all over Europe; took part in many Opera and Symphony productions.

CD " YA YA " feat. Hans Hartmann, Matthias Schubert, Thomas Honecker, Tony Bianco, Mesut Ali and the Lapping Percussion ensemble.
